My bird keeps laying (unwanted) eggs

Answer

Just remove the eggs that the female lays. I remove unwanted eggs every day. If you let the birds raise more than around 3 clutches per breeding season you will exhaust the parents. It is not laying the eggs that is hard on them, but raising the chicks.

Healthy female zebra finches will often lay eggs even without a male companion when they are in good health.
