My bird has plucked areas

There can be a number of causes for feather plucking. One common cause is boredom_x000D_
(caused by a small cage with nothing to do). If you think that is the case, try tying a_x000D_
piece of string to the wire of the cage. The zebras will spend hours trying to pull it_x000D_
out, to make a nest with it.

Another common cause is lack of calcium (see the Basic Care page)

Finally, some zebra finches just have a bad habit of plucking their mates’ feathers. In_x000D_
this case there is not much you can do, other than maybe separate the birds for a while._x000D_
But look at the other two reasons before giving up.
