My birds won’t build in the nest

The easiest way to get birds to build in a nest box or a wicker nest is to make sure_x000D_
that the nest is the highest point in the cage. In other words: place it at the very top_x000D_
of the cage. Make sure the birds can’t sit on top of it. At the same time, make sure that_x000D_
the birds will sit next to the entrance to the nest. This is accompliced by placing a_x000D_
perch at the entrance. If that is difficult try hanging a seed pot at the entrance. Put a_x000D_
little nesting material so that it sticks out of the entrance to the nest.

Generally though, zebra finches will make up their own mind about how and where to_x000D_
build a nest, so you might not have any luck. Most important though, is to make sure they_x000D_
can’t build on top of the nest, and to get them to sit in front of the entrance as_x000D_
mentioned above.
