One common cause is boredom_x000D_<br \/>\n(caused by a small cage with nothing to do). If you think that is the case, try tying a_x000D_<br \/>\npiece of string to the wire of the cage. The zebras will spend hours trying to pull it_x000D_<br \/>\nout, to make a nest with it. <br \/>_x000D_\n<\/p>\n<p>_x000D_<br \/>\n_x000D_<\/p>\n<p>Another common cause is lack of calcium (see the Basic Care page)<br \/>_x000D_\n<\/p>\n<p>_x000D_<br \/>\n_x000D_<\/p>\n<p>Finally, some zebra finches just have a bad habit of plucking their mates&#8217; feathers.
